ISO 10015:1999 is the original quality training standard developed by the ISO, a standard-setting body of representatives
However, ISO 10015+:2009 is the new updated Certification Standard for Management Systems
for Training Services and Products. This was extended by CSEND/AdeQuaTE. Based in Geneva, they were amongst the original members of the working party that developed the 1999 guidelines.
Why have a Quality Training Standard?
Training can sometimes receive a lot of criticism for not addressing real organisational needs.
When economic times are tough, it is often the first budget that is either reduced or removed altogether - its sustainable benefits ignored in favour of short-term financial gain.
To counter this high risk strategy, those who run training services or provide training products
need to clearly demonstrate how they approach quality.
This International quality training standard provides the framework for reviewing, correcting and improving either in-house or independent management systems for training products and
services. It can also be used to benchmark existing training activity and explore how effectively
this addresses competency gaps in employee performance.
